Hello, Jamie. That is a sweet sparkle telecaster you have there. It's nice to find someone else who is into Buck Owens & sparkle tele's. I've had my guitar for about two months now and I really like it. I found it on the web at The Music Gallery in Highland Park, IL near Chicago (www.musicgalleryinc.com). They carry a large stock of Fender Custom Shop guitars. Mine was a one of a kind (CN95570) that their sales rep. found sitting at the Fender Custom Shop headquarters. With shipping and a white tolex G&G case (with red poodle interior) the price totaled $2,995.00. That is about three times more than I have ever paid for a guitar, but I fell in love with it. The body is patterned after a 60's custom tele with double black binding (like your's). The neck is birds-eye maple and patterned after a 50's no-caster (your's is probably this way too?). While the neck is thicker than your typical off the rack tele, it still has that nice narrow feel across the fretboard and is quite comfortable. The big advantage to this, which I did not know before, is a much better tone. Because of the thicker neck you get better sustain and a 'Don Rich' bell-like clearness that I have never had with any of my seven other telecasters. I have learned that some of the Nashville guitar slingers are using this type of neck for that very reason. The color is kind of unique, it is a silver base with light blue glitter/sparkles. It is very noticeable, but really comes to life when the stage lights hit it. Another thing I liked about this guitar was that it had the fancy Custom Shop neck plate and stylish logo on the back of the headstock. Some of your earlier and later models had different style logos that didn't look as good. The guy who made the sale was Matt Jenkins phone# 847-432-6350.
